Solid-Phase Extraction and Characterization of Quercetrin-Rich Fraction from Melastoma malabathricum Leaves

This study was focused on the recovery of quercetrin from crude extract Melastoma malabathricum leaves using technique solid-phase extraction. The process variables and their ranges were screened one-factor-at-a-time statistically optimized response surface methodology. results found that 9.13 mg/mL required 18.24 mL 70.5% methanol as eluent to yield an 86.6% w/w fraction containing 36.02 mg/g quercetrin. increased 1% in 4% fraction. Quercetrin likely be compound contributing antiradical antidiabetic activities. In silico simulation showed had low binding energy mostly bound with charged (Glu Arg) aromatic (Tyr Phe) amino acids via hydrogen bonds. Its inhibitory progress against DPP-IV faster than at concentration (<100 µg/mL).
